We’ll be back (again) Visited for the second time in recent months for Sunday roast dinner. We were rewarded with another lovely evening. Super selection of beers and wine, superb roast beef (certainly one of the best roasts we have had), and excellent puddings. Very friendly service and great value - one couldn’t ask for more! Excellent Sunday Lunch We enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch at the White Horse. Our table was in the bar area. Decor is lovely and staff were very welcoming. A table of four, we enjoyed the roast beef x2 and roast chicken x2. The food was truly delicious and beautifully presented. We ordered a side dish of cauliflower cheese, which was a very generous portion and enough for 4. Portion sizes are perfect. We also managed a dessert each and again these were delicious. Tasty piping hot food, plus 25% off meals if on a Wednesday & over 60 ! We were served by Erin who had such a lovely friendly smile and straightaway, made us feel very at ease. I wanted to change something on my starter, Erin checked, came straight back and said no problem…which is what you always want to hear. Service was timed to perfection, so no waiting around for next course & Erin check at a ‘appropriate’ time if everything was ok etc. Food arrived piping hot & looked very appetising & all three of our dishes were very tasty, including the extra side dishes, that were also good portions too. Father-in-law thought the pavlova he ordered was the best he has had and that really is “praise from Caesar” ! The manager was equally as friendly and helpful as after having such a lovely meal and such a good experience, we decided to enquire about Christmas food/bookings etc. In fact this lovely manager……when our little dog decided to leave a little package on the stones outside…and yes when your desperate for a doggy bag you never have one, went out to his car & got a small plastic bag from his boot for us to use…no we did not give it back to him (next time we go, will provide him with a new bag!). On top of this lovely experience, we also received a massive 25% off our meals because of being there on their weekly offer of “Golden Wednesdays” where 25% is taken off all meals for ages 60+ between 12pm to 15:00. Amazing food and service We visited the White horse for Sunday lunch while staying at the lodges down the road. The food was amazing and great portion sizes too. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The decor is lovely and has a lovely feel to the place. I loved the fact they had the pubs name and picture on the water bottles and glasses provided. Great service, lovely atmosphere We’d originally gone to a pub down the road but didn’t feel very welcome so decided to drive on. So glad we did! Both men who served us were very friendly and attentive, made us feel welcome and both made a genuine impression of wanting to give good service. The meal was fairly priced, tasted great and came out super fast and the pub itself had lovely decor and a warm atmosphere. What a find! What a beautiful place this is. Tom and his team were outstanding! The hospitality we received from the moment we walked in was 5*. Being a visitor to this town for the first time, we were not sure what to expect. The food was delicious and such care with presentation was given. Fantastic lunch! Visited on a whim and proceeded to have one of the best lunches ever. Amazing food in a beautifully-decorated place that was clean and modern, but had enough period features left to avoid it feeling stuffy. Staff were attentive and accomadating of the multiple dietary requirements in the party. Not only was the food spectacular (in particular I recommend the pan-seared chicken), but we were informed as we left that the menu was new, making the quality all the more impressive. We'll definitely be adding the White Horse into our lunch rotation!
