Welcome to The White Horse Inn, Badwell Ash. A charming 16th-century coaching inn, brimming with history and character. Our journey with this historic establishment began in October 2018 when we embarked on a mission to restore its former glory.

The atmosphere was very warm & welcoming- beautifully decorated. My friend & I were led to our table by the most pleasant man with mesmerising eyes. My friend had fish and chips which were amazing. The fish batter was light - non greasy & moreish. The vegetable risotto was the best I have ever eaten & being a vegetarian - I have eaten a few. We would definitely return & give the food a clear 10/10 well done chef !!!

I’ve just got home and felt compelled to write this about a delicious meal my husband and I’ve just had. For context, we lived in the village for the last three years. The White Horse is always been consistent with good food and a great place to go however today was exceptional.. just met the chef Who Is very approachable and his team and I’m so looking forward to what Lies ahead. We had a delicious beef Sunday roast followed by dessert. Anybody who can put a parsnip in a dessert as an ice cream and my husband say thumbs up to a vegetable gets my vote. The piña colada dessert was also outstanding.. the presentation of the food and the flavouring gave us an idea what lies ahead. Good times indeed.

 Verified Excellent meal and service
Had a lovely lunch yesterday absolutely top notch. My friend and I had the lobster Caesar to start with and my husband had smoked salmon then we all went for fish and chips main course my husband who is hard to please said they were the best he had ever eaten and I have to say I agree with him. We came here for diner and tried the new menu. First day of the new menu and it was delicious. The veal starter was a real treat! Veal and tuna was lush. Mains were delicious and deserts were fab. Sticky toffee pudding souffle was heavenly and the peanut butter and jelly sandwich desert was delicious! I hope everyone gets to enjoy the new menu because it is worth a visit. The staff are fabulous and always welcoming. We will be back xxx

 Verified Excellant meal in new surroundings.
Good friendly welcome sat at bar for pre dinner drink.Took food order at our convenience and taken to the table when food was ready. Good menu choice settled for sea bass,and traditional fish and chips and bangers and mash.Finished off with a strawberry pavlova with real Cornish clotted cream.

Visited for the second time in recent months for Sunday roast dinner. We were rewarded with another lovely evening. Super selection of beers and wine, superb roast beef (certainly one of the best roasts we have had), and excellent puddings. Very friendly service and great value - one couldn’t ask for more! Oh, and SUPER dog friendly to boot. We will certainly be back.

 Verified Excellent Sunday Lunch
We enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch at the White Horse. Our table was in the bar area. Decor is lovely and staff were very welcoming. A table of four, we enjoyed the roast beef x2 and roast chicken x2. The food was truly delicious and beautifully presented. We ordered a side dish of cauliflower cheese, which was a very generous portion and enough for 4. Portion sizes are perfect. We also managed a dessert each and again these were delicious. The pub was busy and staff coped well especially as there were a number of large parties. Staff are very professional, lovely to see Tom again.
